Accelicon and STARC Expand HiSIM2 Collaboration
STARC and Accelicon continue partnership in 2010
Yokohama, Japan – February 8, 2010 – The Semiconductor Technology Academic Research Center (STARC) and Accelicon Technologies, Inc. (Accelicon), have decided to renew their partnership expanding their HiSIM2 model development and validation collaboration. Accelicon, founded in 2002, is the leading device-modeling solutions and services provider worldwide. STARC is a research consortium co-founded by major Japanese semiconductor companies in December 1995. STARC and Accelicon continue their partnership to develop advanced HiSIM2 models using MBP, and establish standard validation procedures for HiSIM2 model qualification, based on Accelicon’s industry standard device model validation solution MQA.
"STARC decided to extend to work with Accelicon to build standard QA procedures for HiSIM2 model qualification, version control, model card comparison and documentation generation. These QA procedures are useful and effective not only for the standardization of HiSIM2 but also in quality improvement of real IC design verification." said Goichi Yokomizo, Senior Manager of STARC Design Standard Group.
"Accelicon’s year-old partnership with STARC using MQA to validate HiSIM2 models has been an extraordinary success” said Tim K Smith, Accelicon’s CEO. “Both parties have decided to extend the partnership another year and expand our collaborative efforts to include HiSIM2 model development using Accelicon’s flagship model generation platform.”
About STARC
Semiconductor Technology Academic Research Center (STARC) was established in December 1995 with investment from Japan's leading semiconductor suppliers to reinforce semiconductor design capability. Since its inception, STARC has been conducting joint research with universities and the semiconductor industry to strengthen the bases of research in the field of semiconductor technology at domestic universities. The outcomes of these activities have now been utilized industry-wide in Japan through the transfer of technologies to investing companies to help their businesses, the documenting of technical standards and the licensing of technologies to partner companies for commercialization.
